Who uses it

When to send it

Buyer’s agents send this when they take on a new client. It gets the essentials in writing: anyone buying with them, when they want to move, the most they want to spend, where, and what the home must have.

It also asks how they are paying, with a pre-approval letter if they have one and proof of funds, so you can write an offer the day they find the house.

Tips

Getting it back complete

  • Ask for a pre-approval letter before showings, not after the first offer.
  • Ask for the most they want to spend rather than a range. People round ranges up.
  • Ask what the home must have separately from what they would like. It makes the shortlist honest.
  • Get every buyer’s full legal name now. It is what goes on the offer.
